Bottle-to-bottle at Saitama Stadium 2002! [First circular economy demonstration experiment]

Urawa Reds “SPORTS FOR PEACE! × Urawa Reds SDGs” We are actively working to achieve the goals of the SDGs. Among them, we regard “sustainable stadiums and towns” as a priority issue of SDGs, and are actively working on environmental issues.

As one of these activities, we have decided to start a demonstration experiment in collaboration with ECO KEIKAKU CO., LTD., Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Co., Ltd., Saitama Prefecture, and Saitama Stadium 2002.

The first step is to promote "bottle to bottle", and install collection boxes dedicated to PET bottles at all home games of the 2023 season held at Saitama Stadium 2002, and separate bottles, labels, and caps into three categories. By doing so, the PET bottles that have been thrown away until now will be reborn as new bottles.

■ Cooperating companies (main roles in parentheses)
Urawa Red Diamonds Co., Ltd. (Separate collection, enlightenment implementation)
ECO KEIKAKU CO., LTD. (intermediate processing such as PET bottle volume reduction, composition survey)
Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (PET bottle remanufacturing, special collection box design)
Saitama Stadium 2002 (improvement of the permanent collection box in the stadium, trial production of recycled products using food containers, etc.)

■ What is bottle to bottle?
By converting (recycling) used PET bottles into raw materials and reusing them into new PET bottles, we promote the recycling of PET bottles.

■ What is a circular economy?
An economic activity that promotes efficient and cyclical use of resources at every stage, from production to disposal, and connects environmental efforts to profit.
