Academy Center interacts with Frankfurt for the second time
On the 21st, coaching staff from Urawa Reds' academy met with Nikolai Adam, head of international affairs at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Mr. Nikolai visited Ohara Training Ground again this time, which was the second time for the exchange following the one in March. The academy's coaching staff received a lecture with the aim of sharing and collaborating on each other's methods and philosophies in the field of development as part of the partnership.
The lecture consisted of Mr. Nikolai explaining Frankfurt's philosophy and concept using video footage, and also included preliminary interviews with the Academy, with the following four main themes as the main themes.
(1) How do you balance player-led or team concepts in order to spread Frankfurt's philosophy and methods?
(2) Efforts and methods to foster player independence
(3) Players and staff required by age group
(4)Physical fitness
The academy's coaching staff listened intently to Mr. Nikolai's lecture and asked questions about any questions or things they wanted to know more about. Mr. Nikolai responded sincerely, citing various examples.
Nicolai and Masaki Dobashi, Head of Coach, expressed their impressions as follows, and it seems that this two-hour exchange was also a fulfilling experience.
[Nicolai, Mr. Adam].
I always look forward to coming here and I am happy to be here again. We talked today about soft skills (the ability to teach, communicate, and act well interpersonally), and I think we are doing that very well. I would like to continue to strengthen our relationship with Urawa Reds. We would like to deepen the exchange of knowledge, not only from Frankfurt to the Reds, but also from each other. We would like to exchange players as well, and for example, we would like to make it possible for Reds players to go to Frankfurt's second team and from there to the top team. I don't know how much longer Hasebe (Makoto) will be active, but I would like to see Japanese players continue to play for Frankfurt after that, especially if they join us from Urawa Reds."
[Head of Coach Masaki Dobashi
First of all, I would like to thank Urawa Reds and Frankfurt for the regular opportunities to learn various know-how while partnering with us. Our goal is to produce players who can play in the top team (professional) and who can compete on the world stage, and we hope to learn a lot from Frankfurt so that we can give back to the players in our academy. In the future, we would like not only to have Nicolai visit Japan, but also for us to go to Frankfurt and return the learning we actually experienced to the club. I think we both have the same vision, and we would like to realize that some players from the top team will join Frankfurt, and that the players and staff of the academy will have the opportunity to go to Frankfurt to learn both short- and long-term."
