3rd year of “Kono Yubi TomaREDS! REDS Santa” held

“REDS Santa” is now in its third year.
Kono Yubi TomaREDS is a social collaboration activity launched by the club in 2021 that aims to solve local issues. ” was implemented as part of the action program.
This is an initiative to support the people who use children's cafeterias and the operators of children's cafeterias, with the aim of solving the problem of child poverty.

This year as well, we used Saitama Stadium 2002 as our base to sort out donated items (presents for children) collected from many supporters and sympathizers. Members of Urawa Reds Supporters' Association, Saitama Prefecture, the Saitama Prefectural Social Welfare Council, and club staff volunteers gathered to help bag up 1,200 gifts.

To pick up donated items, members of each children's cafeteria came to pick up gifts for the children, as well as rice and vegetables that had been donated for the children's cafeteria. Many words of gratitude were received for the donated goods, which were loaded into a vehicle.

On the 16th, a distribution event was held at Saitama Children's Shokudo in Midori Ward, Saitama City, where gifts and donated rice and vegetables were warmly provided to local children and families.

The mascot Diarachan also rushed to the scene. Diarachan has been receiving comments from children saying how cute she is. They handed out presents to the children and actively posed for commemorative photos.

Among the children who received the presents, there was one who had a soccer practice match that day, and another who had previously participated in the ``Saitama City Disaster Prevention Children's Restaurant with Urawa Reds'' held at Reds Land. Furthermore, some children immediately opened the original Reds bags and put in the donated items, saying, ``There's a lot of Urawa Reds Reds goods in there! We can use it a lot!''

The distribution event lasted about an hour, and Saitama Children's Shokudo was filled with a peaceful atmosphere filled with smiling faces from the volunteers, children, and parents.

[Saitama Children's Shokudo Representative Kaoru Honma]
``I always say the same thing, but I'm really happy that Urawa Reds are in Saitama City. When Urawa Reds participate in the children's cafeteria in Saitama City, everyone is rooting for them, and the enthusiasm is different. So it feels like we are our team. It's not only the donated items and the people watching the games, but I also feel happy that we have the support of Urawa Reds.

I couldn't do it without the volunteers, and I couldn't do it without my efforts, and I can only do it because of the support of each and every person here. I would be happy if the companies that cooperate with us, including Urawa Reds, would feel like moving forward together. Kodomo Shokudo in Saitama City is a really close-knit team, where everyone can work together. Other teams in Saitama Prefecture are also envious of Urawa Reds and how they are all a team. I want Urawa Reds to continue to do their best, and although we are in a completely different genre as a children's cafeteria, I would be happy if we could grow together."
