Regarding violations and their punishment in the match against FC Machida Zelvia on May 26th

During the 16th round of the 2024 Meiji Yasuda J1 League match against FC Machida Zelvia held at Saitama Stadium on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, a violation of the match management regulations occurred by a spectator who was watching soccer at Saitama Stadium for the second time.

As Urawa Reds Diamonds, we are the party that caused so much trouble to so many people during the fourth round of the Emperor's Cup (JFA 103rd All Japan Football Championship) last year, and we intend to continue to further heighten our sensitivity and level of training in order to prevent any further violations.

Below, we would like to explain the violation and the details of the disciplinary action taken, as well as the events that took place from the time the incident occurred until the issuance of this report.

・Background to the decision on disciplinary measures
<Sunday, May 26th (the day the incident occurred)>
Staff from our club's competition operations headquarters will visually confirm the conduct subject to disciplinary action on-site.
Immediately afterwards, the actions of the person subject to disciplinary action were confirmed, and then the video footage of the act was reviewed.
Because the person subject to the disciplinary action had been drinking alcohol, it was decided to conduct another face-to-face questioning on Monday, May 27th, the earliest possible date given the schedules of both parties.

<Monday, May 27th (the day after the incident occurred)>
Face-to-face questioning will be conducted with the person subject to disciplinary action and the person who accompanied him on the day the incident occurred.
In such cases, if the act subject to disciplinary action has actually been committed, the person in question will be notified that he or she will be subject to disciplinary action.

<May 28th (Tuesday) and 29th (Wednesday) *2 and 3 days after the incident>
Interviews will be conducted with match management personnel and others who were near the scene of the incident on the day the incident occurred, and an investigation will be conducted by cross-checking the testimony of those personnel, the results of questioning, and the results of video review.

<Thursday, May 30th, 4 days after the incident>
Based on the results of the investigation, the results were compared with the "Urawa Red Diamonds Soccer Match Management Regulations" and the "J.League Match Management Penalty Regulations," and after discussion within the Competition Management Headquarters, the Competition Management Headquarters decided on a disciplinary policy.
Following this decision, the club will convene a compliance committee on the following Friday, May 31st, to make a final decision on disciplinary action.

<Friday, May 31st, 5 days after the incident>
A compliance committee was held to decide on the disciplinary action to be taken.

<Tuesday, June 4th, 9 days after the incident>
A written statement of agreement to the disciplinary action is obtained from the person subject to the disciplinary action in person.


We sincerely apologize for not being able to prevent this violation of the match management regulations from occurring.
Urawa Reds will continue to focus on measures to prevent the occurrence of violations and will take timely, appropriate and firm action against any violations, in order to create a safe, comfortable, exciting and packed stadium.
