- “Today's match was a very difficult challenge for us. We expected Shonan to be highly motivated and play with determination. They played very aggressively in their home games, including the recent match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima On the other hand, I think the defense played a very solid defense today.The team as a whole was able to do that, but I think the two center backs in particular did a good job. .
In the beginning, they didn't give us much space during our build-up, making it a little difficult for us. I don't think we used the space behind the opponent very well, but I think the diagonal ball from Takuya (Iwanami) was very good.
In the second half, (Koizumi) Kaho was on the pitch and changed the build-up a bit, allowing us to keep the ball longer in the opponent's half. And one of those plays led to Jose Kante 's shot, where he showed his quality.
This was a match we played on the second day of middle school, so we knew that physical strength wasn't the Reds' strong point today. After scoring the goal, we tried to control the game a little, but we created some chances for Shoya Nakajima. I think we achieved our goal of controlling the opponents even when they went deep.
