We would like to inform you that it has been decided that Sports Director Hisashi Tsuchida will retire after the 2023 season.

“As of the 2023 season, I have decided to step down from my position as sports director, a position I have held for four seasons.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported me thus far, including all the fans and supporters who love Urawa Reds.
Looking back, when I was approached to become the sports director, I felt extremely honored, but at the same time, I felt a strong sense of conflict as to whether it was appropriate for me, who had no experience as a sports director, to take on such a heavy responsibility. is remembered.
At the end of that struggle, I came to the conclusion that it is my duty to do my best in whatever role is required of me by this club, which is my life, and to this day I have held the position of Sports Director. I have poured all my strength and passion into it.
However, as someone who has been in the professional world for a long time, if you are unable to fulfill the responsibilities of the role required of you, or if you are unable to achieve the goals you have set, then of course you should not continue to be in that position. We have made this decision thinking that there is no such thing.
The club Urawa Reds will continue to be my life.
I sincerely hope that Urawa Reds will continue to be a club that is loved and needed by many people, and that provides happiness and inspiration.
And no matter what my position, distance, or role, I would like to continue to live my life in a way that helps those people.''
Please note that there will be no changes to the structure of the Football Headquarters due to the retirement of Sports Director Hisashi Tsuchida. We will continue to support the team, led by General Manager Atsushi Tokari, Technical Director Tsutomu Nishino, and Section Manager Satoshi Horinouchi.
