Watanabe: "I feel just as frustrated as when I lose."
After the match against Jubilo Iwata in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 15th round on August 19, Ryoma Watanabe talked about his impressions of the game and his enthusiasm for the next round.
We have the YBC Lewan Cup game V-Varen Nagasaki in between, but I think we have tightened up in a different way before the game FC Machida Zelvia. We didn't lose, but I feel the same way as I do now when we lost. We haven't lost, but in terms of the current team situation, many of the players are just as frustrated as they were when we lost, so I am very positive about that, and I think we can have a good fight from now on.
(Do you think you are gradually getting a lot of things right now?)
(Do you think that you are gradually improving?) "Yes, I think that teams that can say 'why they won' in a game are strong. I have been to many teams, and teams that did not win many games in a row often could not say why they won. I think this will lead to the next step. I think today's draw was just a case of things not going well.
(This is only the second game you have started at inside half.)
(This is the second game you have started at inside half.) "No matter where I am used, what I do is the same, and I just have to give 100 percent. My maturity level differs depending on the position, but I think I am growing.
(Wasn't it much different from the game against Kyoto Sanga F.C. today, where the opponent put people in the midfield and didn't let you have much freedom?)
(Today's game was much different from the game against , wasn't it?) "I think we have to break through the barrier of how to deal with the situation when we are pulled back like that. However, in the second half, I think we were able to attack to some extent to break their stronghold, so I hope we can continue to do so without being in a hurry.
(V-Varen Nagasaki match is the toughest series of the season with long-distance travel in two days, isn't it?)
I have no choice but to do it, and I will just think about recovering.
(Is there a difference in your mindset in the cup competition, which is over if you lose?)
(Is there a difference in your feeling in a cup match where it is over if you lose? We have no Emperor's Cup this season, so we cannot afford to play fewer games.
