Announcement of Captain and Vice Captain Changes for the 2024 Season
We are pleased to announce that Atsuki Ito has been chosen as team captain for Urawa Reds for the remainder of the 2024 season, following the withdrawal of Hiroki Sakai from the team to prepare for his transfer to an overseas club.
We would also like to announce that Shusaku Nishikawa will be the vice-captain of the team for the remainder of the 2024 season, replacing Alexander Scholz who also left the team.
Atsuki Ito Comments
I have been nominated as captain and I made the decision without hesitation, thinking about the club and my own growth.
I joined Urawa Reds as a professional and have felt the responsibility of fighting with this emblem on my back every day. As captain, I will fight with more responsibility and determination than ever before.
No one is satisfied with our current ranking.
I will concentrate on each and every game in front of me, and I will work my way up the standings one by one.
Finally, to our fans and supporters, thank you for your constant and enthusiastic support. I am grateful for your support.
Please continue to fight with us.
