Coach Maciej Skorza press conference after the match against Kashiwa
Meiji Yasuda J1 League Round 25 match Kashiwa Reysol [Meiji Yasuda vs J League 10th Anniversary Partnership Match] Post-match comments
"We managed to get three very important points. In pressure-filled matches like this, the mental aspect is important, and I think the players showed that very well.
I think we played a solid defense, but Kashiwa was aggressive, so we struggled a bit with the build-up. Even so, we were able to show good teamwork and team spirit as everyone tried to control the game. We fought to score until the very end, and luck was on our side this time. In recent games, we've been unlucky. I'd like to thank the players for their efforts today.
I also think we were able to play in a wonderful atmosphere. The support from our fans and supporters was amazing, and gave the team a positive boost. Thank you very much."
[Question and Answer Session]
What did the players do to bring the luck to themselves?
"The players continued to attack well even after we entered added time, so I think that's what brought us luck. The players who came on later also did a great job, so I think we deserved to win. I think we showed a strong spirit to keep fighting to score even in difficult situations, and our hard work today was worthy of a goal."
(Today, Samuel Gustafson started the game, and I think that Kashiwa made the best progress since Maciej Skorza took over as coach, especially until the middle of the first half. What effect did he have on the team, and what changes did Kashiwa make from the middle of the first half?)
"I think Samuel (Gustavsson) was the team's strong point today. We were able to build up very effectively in zone 2. However, as the game progressed and the opponent began to respond after the half-way point of the first half, I think it would have been good to change our build-up from a 4-4-2 a little bit."
