We will fight through the match with full devotion

Comment from Team Manager Petrovic the day before the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup semi-final match against Gamba Osaka

First of all, we have made steady progress in winning the past 5 Yamazaki Nabisco Cup matches which we have played against Montedio Yamagata, Omiya Ardija and Serezo Osaka. I regard one of the five matches we played was good and the rest were even better. That was why we were able to come to this stage.
As for our previous match against Cerezo Osaka, I was able to enjoy watching the match from the bench. This shows how well our team played last time. We will play against one of the best and most experienced teams called Gamba Osaka tomorrow. We must fight against very experienced players who know what is required when playing in semi-finals and finals matches.
But, having said this, we will play the match in our home stadium tomorrow. I believe that so many of our supporters will fill the stadium tomorrow. For this reason, we must consolidate their energy with our own to fight well against the formidable team. Both Gamba Osaka and Urawa Reds are big teams. Matches fought between the two are often referred to as national derbies. Urawa Reds is a big team and it is possible for us to play even in the final match. I believe that the utmost efforts our team members have made during this season should be rewarded.
We have many young players in our team. I think those young players should play through the match with strong heartfelt devotion by working hard. As it has been six years since our team played in the Cup’s semi-finals, I am not sure if any of the eleven players who will be playing on the pitch tomorrow have ever experienced semi-final or final matches. However, regardless of that, tomorrow’s match will bring them a great opportunity to achieve something big.
