“We practiced at high intensity and are ready to fight seven games in a row.” Coach Maciej Skorza (regular press conference 5/18)

On the 18th, Director Maciej Skorza held a press conference online, and talked about his enthusiasm for the Meiji Yasuda Life J1 League Round 14 match against Avispa Fukuoka, which will be held at the away Best Denki Stadium on the 20th.

(Fukuoka, who will be your opponent on the 20th, has a solid defense, and is a team that has a 5-man back line and, in some cases, a 9-man solid block with 4 midfielders. How do you plan to capture it? ?)
“I know we have a tough job ahead of us. I think Fukuoka is a strong team in defense, and I think the three guys up front are strong. For the past two days, I have mainly practiced that kind of training.”

(Last season, the team led by Ricardo Rodriguez played against Fukuoka, and there was a game that ended in a draw as he struggled to score goals even when he was in possession of the ball and entered the opponent's half. What about Maciej 's idea when pushing in?)
“If I talk too much here, I think it will be an easy game for the opponent. In the home game last November, Iwanami (Takuya) had a great mid-range shot. I was going around, but it was from that mid-range shot that the goal was born.I may not be able to answer your question directly, but when analyzing Fukuoka this time, what was the most helpful? It's against Kawasaki Frontale in Fukuoka, and I'm not trying to play exactly the same as Kawasaki, but I was able to get some inspiration from that."

(The three Muangthong United players have been in training since yesterday. What potential do you see in them in your view, and how do you feel about what the Maciej will gain from such a partnership?)
“I think it’s a very interesting partnership and I hope it will be fruitful for both clubs. As for the Thai players, they are only in their second day of training so I cannot rate them at this point. We'll wait and see when they get used to it and feel confident playing among the Reds players, and then evaluate them.

(It will be a 7-game series starting with the Fukuoka match, but can you tell us how you want to overcome it and the strategic aspects?)
"It's a very simple strategy, win one game and win seven games in a row."

(What was your intention in giving the team two days off after Gamba Osaka game in the previous section?)
“It was after a period of very intense games, including the two finals of the ACL (AFC Champions League), so I thought it was important to give him a break at this time, considering the training. The players seemed to be refreshed and were able to practice at high intensity yesterday after the off-season. I think I'm ready for a 7-game streak by taking a break from this once."

(How did Maciej himself spend those two days?)
"I spent the first day reading, and the second day analyzing our game and our next opponent."

(What book did you read?)
"It's a book about Japan. It's written by a Polish man who has worked for a large Japanese company. It's very useful because it describes the customs of Japanese organizations."

(Was there anything in the book that you could use?)
"The situation in this club is also better understood by reading this book."

(The weather has exceeded 30 degrees Celsius both yesterday and today. How do you feel about the heat in Japan? What do you think will be necessary during matches in the heat, including substitutions?)
“I have been telling the whole team since yesterday that it is important to stay hydrated on a hot day like this. Four of our players had cramps in the match against Al-Hilal in Riyadh, but I think dehydration was the main cause. Also, I heard that Fukuoka doesn't have much watering, so I checked the weather forecast for Fukuoka. If there is no watering, I hope it will rain. So I checked the weather forecast. It was raining when Kawasaki won 3-1 against Fukuoka.A pitch with a fast ball is preferable for a team that wants to play aggressively."

(I would like to ask about the second row of 4-3-2-1. You said that you were looking at the ACL final, but the reason why you used Japanese players in the second row was because of the foreign nationality quota. Was that what you were thinking?)
“One reason is that we were only able to use three foreign players in the ACL. We expected that two of them would be used by Alexander Scholz and Marius Hoibraten. It was also expected to be a match, Jose Kante I was thinking that (Koroki) Linssen might not be able to make it to the 90 minutes. That's why we didn't use Alex Schalk and David Moberg Karlsson very often."

(It may be related to Fukuoka's capture point, but how do you want to make the most of the second row in the future?)
“The second row is very important for our play, and we hope to be able to play like we did in the second half of Gamba OSAKA match. I think it was done, and I think we were able to play more like ourselves from that time.”

(Do you also want scoring power in the second row?)
“I think that Okubo’s goal was a step forward. I think that Atsuki’s press resulted in (Yasui) Kaito’s goal.I would like to improve our offensive stats in the future.”

(Comparing 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1, what are the differences and commonalities of the volunteers?)
“I think there is a big difference. I think it was partly because we didn’t practice in the first half of the game against Gamba OSAKA, but the team was a little hesitant to attack. However, there was not much movement in the half space in front of the opponent's defensive line, which was made up of 4-2-3-1.As I said at the post-match press conference, Bryan Linssen I replaced him not because his performance was bad, but because he wasn't playing effectively as a team.I will continue to train and try to be the top two."

(Is the decision criteria for changing formations based on the match with the opponent? Is it to bring out different points in the players? What do you think is the advantage of having multiple formations in a long season?)
“There are things that I change for both reasons. For example, before the match against Al-Hilal, I had a lot of discussions with the coaching staff about whether or not we should play in the back five. If there is a change in the formation, I would like to think about how to make the most of the abilities, skills, and habits of the players.”

(I would like to ask about the discipline that the coach talks about. In the case of Machai, I don't think it is a discipline that binds the players. The reason is that the players say that the team has a sense of unity, and because of the coach. The words "I want to win" came out of the players. I don't think they will come out if it's something to bind them. Can you give me a hint about the content of coach Maciej 's discipline?)
“You just mentioned discipline, do you mean discipline on the pitch or discipline in the locker?”

(I would like to ask about the discipline in the locker room)
“In the locker room, the players are like my sons. The important thing about the discipline there is to protect what you have to protect, but also leave room for them to express themselves and develop. And I think it's also important to act with a sense of responsibility for what's happening to the team. I think there are a lot of young and smart players. And I would like them to actively act as a member of the team.My English is not very good, so I don't know if I can convey what I want to say. But I'm doing my best (laughs)."

(In the game against Gamba Osaka, I felt that the defensive midfielders were aiming to be side by side and in front of the opponent's first line. The first half may not have gone very well, but I felt that that effort was very positive. I would like you to tell me the aim of adjusting the height and the part that Director Maciej values.)
“First of all, I have to admit that my idea of a buildup against Gamba OSAKA didn’t go well in the first half. I think the team was struggling with the buildup. Even after losing the match, I think we were able to control it well except when we conceded a goal. However, we weren't able to make the most of the space up front, so we replaced two players at halftime to build. I also changed the upload method.

(Personally, I prefer to have an impact in the midfield without letting the volunteers down, so I'm hoping that the first half will go well.)
“Depending on how the opponent defends, sometimes the volante will drop and the 3-card turn will be effective. In a build-up, 2 center backs may not be enough. When 2-card turn is not enough, 3-card turn. However, it does not necessarily mean that it has to be a volunteer. For example, one of the full-backs can remain and play with 3.However, I think that 3 is necessary in every game. increase"
