Zion Suzuki visits her alma mater Daito Elementary School as a Reds teacher

On the 5th, Zion Suzuki visited his alma mater, Saitama City Daito Elementary School, as a Reds teacher.

The "Reds Teacher" initiative is an initiative where players use their own experiences to teach lessons to convey the importance of having dreams and the support of family and friends, which began with a visit to an elementary school in 2010 and continued as an online exchange even after it became difficult to interact in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the first time in about three years that players actually visited the school and were able to interact face-to-face with the children.

This was the first time in about two years that Zion had interacted with the students of Daito Elementary School as a Reds teacher. Before leaving for the school, she said, "Two years ago, it was difficult to introduce my process online, but this time, I'm meeting face-to-face, so I want to convey my experience while looking at everyone's faces."

Furthermore, this was a surprise visit, and the children were not informed that Zion would actually be visiting the school. With the cooperation of the staff, this plan was made possible.

When Zion arrived at Daito Elementary School, she first went around each class to present the first-grade students with Urawa Reds original pencils and Trial invitation flyers as a gift for their entrance. The students were surprised by the sudden visit and were full of smiles.

After finishing the surprise visit to the 1st graders, we headed to the gymnasium to conduct a class for the 6th graders, who were our main focus this time. Ayane, who was Zion on the pitch, showed a surprising side before the actual performance with an anxious look on her face, saying, ``I'm a little nervous.''

The students had been informed that this class would be held online, so Zion first appeared on the screen in front of the students. ``Do you all want to see me? I'm coming to see you!'' he called out as he jumped out from the back of the gymnasium and made a surprise appearance.

Zion was greeted with a big round of applause, and while introducing herself, she talked about the process she took to become a professional and what she values in order to reach her dreams.
``I've had many frustrating experiences over and over again, but these frustrating experiences are very important, and what I think is important in life is that people who have had a lot of frustrating experiences can make their dreams come true. I don't think so," he says, looking at the children with a serious look.
``People who don't have regrets can't fly high. People who have regrets sometimes feel depressed and look down, but it always becomes a run-up to achieving their dreams and goals. "Fail many times and keep trying. Don't forget your dreams and goals. If you do that, I think you will be able to fly high."

Another thing to do is to convey keywords to the children.
“Of course it is important to make efforts in life, but I think there is another important thing, and that is luck.I believe that luck is not something that just happens to you, but something that you grasp yourself. God sees when you pick up trash or do something for others even when no one else is looking.I think luck will follow those people and it will help them achieve their goals. I think so.”
The children's eyes lit up as they were glued to the Zion words.

In the second half of the class, we enjoyed recreational activities such as exchanging passes with the children and demonstrating throwing and long kicks, and at the end, we finished off with a signed clear picture, each one carefully written with love. A file was handed out to each person as a gift.

After the class, Zion said, ``Honestly, it was fun. I'm glad that I was able to actually see everyone face-to-face and have fun. I think that by interacting with everyone like this, children's dreams will expand.'' I also wanted to give everyone confidence, so I would like to continue participating in activities like this in the future,'' he said with a satisfied look on his face.

``Reds Sensei'' is held for children in our hometown based on the Urawa Reds philosophy of ``contributing to the healthy development of young people as members of society.'' By interacting with local children, we will help them feel closer to the club and players, and we will continue to send messages that give dreams, hope, and courage to children.
