Savio: "I hope we can keep on the momentum with today's win"
On the 2nd, after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League Round 8 match against Shimizu S-Pulse, Matheus Savio, who scored his first goal since joining Urawa Reds, reflected on his goal and spoke about his enthusiasm for the future.
(Matheus Savio 's interception led to Ryoma Watanabe 's goal)
"I think it was a play that came about as a result of the staff's analysis. I read the play and made the interception. My play was simple, but I think Ryoma's shot was fantastic."
(Savio's goal was a brilliant direct volley, wasn't it?)
"Hiro (Hirokazu Ishihara) sent a really good ball. I didn't have a good angle, but I was able to shoot and I'm glad it turned into a point."
After the match against Cerezo Osaka, manager Maciej Skorza commented that Savio must be struggling with a lack of goals and assists, but how did you feel about your performance up to that point?
"When you play soccer, there are times like that. I believed that I would get results, and my teammates also believed in me. I'm glad we got results today, but I want to keep doing what I've been doing up until now and continue to work hard and devote myself to practice every day so that I can continue to grow."
(Isn't today's result a source of reassurance for the future?)
"With today's win, I think not only I, but the whole team, has gained confidence. It's true that we didn't get off to a good start in the league and no one was satisfied, but with today's win I hope we can get on a roll, so I'll do my best to keep this momentum going and win more games in a row."
